My Son’s Shoes | Personal | Calgary Photographer

So we had parent/teacher interviews last week.  I was so excited to go and talk to Jack’s teacher to hear how awesome he is, with his six A’s.  It was awesome, but then I happened to glance at the indoor shoe rack.  I was appalled by this pair of shoes I saw.  What mother would send her child to school in shoes as bad as these?  How did this kid actually walk around in these shoes?  I’ve never seen shoes as badly beaten up as these.

I had to get a closer look and picked the shoes up.  I turned them over to see the gripless bottoms and faintly in black marker I could just make out a “tner”……. Whoa, wait a minute, that’s the last 4 letters of our last name…….. Oh no!!!  These are MY son’s shoes……..  I’m a terrible mother!!

I was mortified when Jack sheepishly told me they were his.  WHAT!!  How did this happen, why didn’t you tell me!?  Jack claims they’ve only been like this for a few days, but I look at these and think this is weeks or months of destruction.   I don’t know how he has walked around the school in these.  How do they even stay on his feet!  I’m sure a few Moms glanced at the shoe rack and felt bad for the kid who had these shoes.  Jeesh!

The moral of this story is……. Moms, look around at school once and a while – you might be surprised at what you find.  (and check your husband’s underwear drawer occasionally as well.  These shoes reminded me of some of the underwear I have found in there.)

We bought new shoes this weekend!!!

LOL Ah that’s a boy for you… How does a pair of shoes get that way? If shoes could talk:)

Only a boy….but I bet they’re super comfy!!

Did the dog do that?
Never judge a man till you have walked a mile in his shoes, that way you are a mile away,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and you have his shoes!
