This was a special wedding for me and a perfect way for me to end the season. Christa is a friend of mine and it was a great honour for me to capture and document her wedding day. This was the first time I met Derek and I was blown away by how perfect they were for each other. He lived up to every good thing Christa told me about him. They were so incredibly happy, excited and full of joy this day that I think they were impervious to the cold! We did a ‘reveal’ in the morning, before the wedding, at 10:00am in the mountains. Needless to say it was a bit “fresh” – as Derek called it. They didn’t care though. Christa was seriously radiating. The bridesmaids on the other hand felt every bit of that windchill. I gotta hand it to them though, they really sucked it up and took one for the team. The girls and the guys were all rock stars considering how chilly it was. We had an amazing time and even though it was very cold, it was worth it!
Christa coming down the path to see each other for the first time on their wedding day.
The smiles didn’t leave their faces all day.
Derek is also pretty funny!
This ceremony was not only touching, but full of laughs.
I love this picture because a group of close family and friends surrounded the couple and prayed for them. This is Christa’s sister with tears streaming down her face. The best kind of tears.
Few more shots after the ceremony when it had warmed up a bit.
