Our time in Slovenia was a highlight of the trip. Our nephew had been backpacking around Europe the last year. After Hallstatt we drove over to Lake Bled and he met us there! It was so exciting to see him after he had been away for so long. It was so funny meeting in a foreign country!

We had the cutest little Airbnb just a few blocks off the lake. It was perfect. We arrived the night before to rainy, overcast skies. We woke up to a perfect, sunny morning! Gabe came in that morning by bus and we hit the lake on stand-up paddleboards! This was a bucket list activity for me! This lake has a castle and a church on an island in the middle of it. We had a fabulous paddle! We went ziplining in Bled, walked up to the castle and then made our way to Ljubljana.

Ljubljana is a small city with so much charm and warmth. The people of Slovenia are so friendly and down to earth.
